The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in collaboration with the SimplyHelp Foundation handed over sporting equipment, toys, shoes and clothing items to the Ministry of National Mobilisation, at a brief ceremony held at the Girls Guide Headquarters in Kingstown Park on Tuesday, 16th April.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Ambassador of the Republic of China On Taiwan, Her Excellency Fiona Fan, thanked the foundation for their initiative in helping to bring assistance to students and beneficiaries of the donated items.

Ambassador Fan said the items arrived in a container packed with other items to be distributed to recipients in different fields around the country. The items donated at today’s ceremony are valued at $49,000USD. 

Minister of National Mobilisation, Dr. Orande Brewster expressed his appreciation for the longstanding relationship between SVG & The Republic of China (Taiwan) which continues to bear fruit.

Dr. Brewster said that through his Ministry and the various departmental programs, they have implemented, the items that were donated today as well as in the previous weeks will greatly assist the Ministry in realising its mandate.

The sporting organisations that are benefiting are: Barrouallie Sports Association, Calliaqua Grassroot Football Club, Carib Warriors Football Club, Diamonds Sports Club, Green Hill Sports Club, Layou FC, North Leeward Predators, Orange Hill Football Club, Overland Football Club, Owia and Fancy United Football Clubs, Pride and Joy Football Club, Richland Park and Mesopotamia Police Youth Clubs, Sharpes Football League, Stubbs and Diamond Police Youth Clubs and the System 3 Football Academy.

The SimplyHelp Foundation is a nonprofit organisation that was formed in 2000. The organisation's headquarters is in California and was established by Taiwan citizens.
